# How Amnis works?
**Requirements:**

Stake APT
**Step 1: Acquire APT**
Staking APT via Amnis requires you to have APT. For example, you may purchase APT on centralized exchanges like [Coinbase](https://www.coinbase.com/) or [Binance](https://binance.com) from fiat currency.
Once purchased, withdraw the APT to your Aptos-supported wallet. ([Coinbase](https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/cryptocurrency-trading-pairs/how-to-send-and-receive-cryptocurrency), [Binance](https://www.binance.com/en/support/faq/115003670492))
**Step 2: Connect wallet to Amnis Finance**
Now that you have APT in your Aptos-supported wallet, navigate to the [Amnis Finance app](https://testnet.amnis.finance/mint).
On the [Stake ](https://stake.amnis.finance/mint)tab, click "Connect Wallet".
Select the wallet that you have installed and approve the app.
**Step 3: Stake your APT**
Enter the number of APT that you would like to stake.
Click **"Mint & Stake"** and then confirm the transaction. This will stake APT, and you will receive [stAPT ](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)in return.
**Step 4: Use or hold your** [**stAPT**](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)**!**
Simply by holding [stAPT ](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)in your wallet, you can earn passive income at an approximate +7.5% APR (Annual Percentage Rate). Additionally, you can use [stAPT](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt) for lending on [Aries](https://app.ariesmarkets.xyz/lending), staking, and yield farming within the Aptos DeFI ecosystem.
Mint amAPT
**Step 1: Mint amAPT**
On the [Mint ](https://stake.amnis.finance/mint)tab, enter the number of APT that you would like to mint to amAPT.
Click **"Mint Only"** and then confirm the transaction. This will mint APT, and you will receive [amAPT](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt) in return.
**Step 2: Use or hold your** [**amAPT**](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)
You can use amAPT to add liquidity on [Pancakeswap](https://aptos.pancakeswap.finance/add/0x111ae3e5bc816a5e63c2da97d0aa3886519e0cd5e4b046659fa35796bd11542a::amapt_token::AmnisApt/0x1::aptos_coin::AptosCoin), [Liquidswap](https://liquidswap.com/#/?from=0x1::aptos_coin::AptosCoin\&to=0x111ae3e5bc816a5e63c2da97d0aa3886519e0cd5e4b046659fa35796bd11542a::amapt_token::AmnisApt\&curve=stable\&version=0.5\&target=swap) or [stake amAPT ](https://stake.amnis.finance/stake)to stAPT in return with a +7.5% APR.
Stake amAPT
**Step 1: Stake amAPT**
On the [Stake ](https://testnet.amnis.finance/stake)tab, enter the number of amAPT that you would like to mint to stAPT.
Click **"Stake"** then Confirm the transaction.
**Step 2: Use stAPT**
Simply holding stAPT in your wallet which earn passive income at about 7% APR. And, you can use [stAPT ](https://app.gitbook.com/o/yYAp9ISxEvjwAgxoY5ed/s/S1BuIoYSwiJZqNrZeQzd/~/changes/85/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)in lending, staking and yield farming in Aptos DeFI ecosystem.
Unstake stAPT
On the [Unstake ](https://stake.amnis.finance/stake?q=unstake)tab, enter the number of stAPT that you would like to unstake to amAPT.
Click **"Unstake"** then Confirm the transaction.
Congratulations! You've unstaked your stAPT and received [amAPT ](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt)in return.
Withdraw
On the [Withdraw ](https://stake.amnis.finance/withdraw?q=request)tab, there are two ways to obtain APT from [amAPT](https://docs.amnis.finance/amnis-protocol/amapt-and-stapt):
1. Slow withdrawal: This process takes 30 days. After that, you can claim your APT using the Claim tab.
2.
